The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests of floors with no carpet They are also adept at cleaning dog hair. However, they have some flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is its navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's thus susceptible to getting stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate densely packed rooms very well during our tests. Also, it doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of an area.
It's still a great option to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a Roomba from iRobot, and you have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also quiet and operates when you're at work or school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. If you want to, you can switch the mopping pad to dry ones in just a few just a few seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that can mop floors. This robot vacuum and mop combination features a sleek, circular design that looks much like a Roomba model than the boxy units of the rivals. It's one of our most attractive robot vacuums. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also the most intelligent. It has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads on its own).
It's the only robot vacuum/mop that scored an exemplary 10/10 in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.
The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It has an easy mobile application interface and integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that it's a noisy unit that could be an issue if you use it in the morning prior to work, or at night when you try to fall asleep.

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with a variety of sophisticated features that let you get rid of your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device, similar to Ecovacs the top of the line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically empty the vacuum's bin and refills the water tank, and cleans and dries mop pads.
The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floor plans and detect obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its top competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera to detect hazards in real-time, although this wasn't quite 100% foolproof during our tests and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.
Its vacuum has a high suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to get the job done. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vac works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house in accordance with how dirty they tend to be.
If you own a larger home, it's worth selecting a robot that comes with zones or spot cleaning modes. This allows you to tell the robot which area of your home needs to be cleaned using the app or voice control. If you have furniture, a stairway mode is also a good option. Also, a recharge and resume feature that lets your robot vacuum take over exactly where it left off is great for busy families.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you would think from its price. It is a good vacuum cleaner, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using a single pad that uses an oscillating motion that is cleaner than the other mop cleaners for robots we've examined. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured application and a self-emptying, washable base.
The well-designed iRobot application guides you through an initial mapping session that collects data about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you set on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, plan an area for cleaning or to prioritize your most filthy rooms to ensure better performance. The app comes with a variety of features, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
It can also reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It also has a strong suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for pet hair. And you can create a spot-clean that scours a specific area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and cheaper alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its style, much like Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble adorable eyes. It is great at vacuuming, but it is more likely to get caught in low thresholds. It also has a higher noise than other top robot vacuums that we have tested. It also has an app that's not as intuitive and a small base station that does not double as a bin to empty.
